Frequently Asked Questions

BEFORE WE START THE PROJECT

We understand that effective communication is key to a successful partnership with
our clients. Every day throughout the job we are going to be available to answer your
questions. We want to know that we are meeting or exceeding your expectations before,
during and after the project.

We encourage you to obtain bids from other contractors. We are committed to
transparency in our pricing and are confident that, given the quality of our work and the service we provide, you will find our estimates very competitive. When looking at
different bids, be sure to compare the estimates very carefully. Make sure each bid clearly details what is and is not included, understand the terminology, and ask lots of
questions.

Always. Contracts are designed to protect and provide peace of mind for both the
client and the contractor. Also, they are required by law for projects over $1,000.

Alex Freddi Construction and its subcontractors are fully licensed, bonded and
insured.

We’re committed to making steady progress on your project each weekday to ensure
a timely completion. However, please understand that unforeseen circumstances like
delays in material acquisition, extreme weather events, inspections delays, or changes
to the project scope may extend the timeframe and temporarily impact our ability to
work on-site.

Monday through Friday, 8.00AM to 5.00PM. However we will work with you to make
the project as convenient for you as possible outside of these normal hours.

We gladly provide a comprehensive list of references with every estimate, allowing
you to speak directly with our satisfied clients. Additionally, we’ve collected hundreds
of testimonials over the years, which you can explore on reputable platforms such as
Angi, Houzz, Google, and Yelp. These resources offer valuable insights into our
commitment to quality and client satisfaction.

Leveraging our experience from hundreds of completed projects, we stay ahead of
the curve on current trends to transform your vision into a reality. We’ll work within
your budget to create a dream bathroom or kitchen that perfectly suits your space.
Our design partners can also professionally measure your space and craft detailed
floor plans, elevations, and perspective drawings using industry-standard software, so
you can visualize your dream before you commit.

Reuse, reduce, recycle! We love this planet as much as you do.
Whenever possible, materials and fixtures that are removed from the job site are
either reused elsewhere, donated to a non-profit organization, or recycled.

Imagine achieving your dream space with stunning design and eco-friendly features.
We offer innovative, sustainable construction practices and eco-conscious materials,
without sacrificing the quality and style you desire.

Let us know if you would like any assistance in making your selections. We are happy
to help! We are pleased to provide recommendations for vendors and showrooms to
our clients. Our team has established relationships with reputable providers that have
a proven track record of excellence. These vendors offer a wide range of materials
and fixtures, including but not limited to, cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures,
lighting, flooring, etc.

Meticulous planning is the cornerstone of a successful remodel, and we’re committed
to guiding you through every stage of this crucial process. To ensure a smooth and
efficient project timeline for your home, we emphasize the importance of early
material selection and procurement. Special order lead times can vary significantly,
often extending to several weeks or even months. Ideally, all materials should be
delivered and on-site before demolition commences. This proactive approach
minimizes delays and ensures a seamless transition between project phases, allowing
us to deliver your desired results within a predictable timeframe. We will work closely
with you to manage these lead times and keep your project on track.

While we strive for highly accurate estimates, unforeseen circumstances, such as
hidden damage (e.g., dry rot, pest, concealed code issues), can occasionally occur.
To minimize surprises, we conduct a thorough post-demolition inspection and
transparently communicate any potential for unexpected work. If unanticipated issues
arise during the project, we will promptly notify you. Out-of-scope changes, written or
verbally agreed upon by both parties, will be invoiced using a ‘time and materials’
method. Applicable labor rates are always outlined in our contract.

To secure your project slot, a small, non-refundable retainer fee is required upon contract
approval. A detailed progress payment schedule will be outlined within the
contract itself. The final payment will be due upon substantial completion of the
project.

We take every precaution to limit the amount of dust and noise during the project.
Crews clean up at the end of each day, leaving the job site safe and clean.

To ensure the well-being of both you our crew and your family, we prioritize safety
measures throughout your project. This includes conducting any required asbestos
(pre-2004 homes) and lead paint testing (pre-1978 homes).
For the safety of everyone involved, please refrain from entering construction zones.

DURING THE PROJECT

Every job is different, and its length varies based on the final scope of work.
A typical full bathroom remodel takes three to six weeks. A typical full kitchen
remodel five to eight weeks, depending on size.

For your convenience, some clients choose to leave a key for access. We completely
respect your comfort level, and will work with your preferred method of entry.

Your project will have a dedicated Project Manager who oversees everything. They’ll handle scheduling, crew and subcontractor management, basic building material procurement, and troubleshooting. Regular communication keeps you informed of progress, ensuring we meet or exceed your expectations. Open communication is key throughout the project. If you have any modifications or
additions in mind, don’t hesitate to discuss them with us. We’ll work collaboratively to
assess the impact on cost and timeline, keeping you informed every step of the way.
Remember, thorough planning is essential, but we understand unforeseen needs may
arise.

Occasionally hidden issues can be revealed during demolition (dry rot, previous work
code issues, pest, etc). In such cases, we’ll immediately discuss potential solutions and
any necessary cost adjustments before proceeding with additional work. Our goal is
to keep you informed throughout the project, minimizing surprises.
